Center for World University Rankings
The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) is a leading consulting organization that provides policy advice, strategic insights and advisory services to governments and universities to improve educational and research outcomes.
Since 2012, CWUR has published the only academic ranking of global universities that assesses the quality of education, alumni employment, faculty quality and research performance without relying on university surveys and data submission. The ranking began as a project in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with the aim of ranking the world's top 100 universities. It was quickly spread around the world by universities and media outlets and many requests were received to expand it. In 2019, the ranking was expanded to list the top 2,000 universities from nearly 20,000 universities worldwide, making it the largest academic ranking of global universities.
Since 2016, the Center for World University Rankings is based in the United Arab Emirates.
The University of Algarve (UAlg) is featured in this Ranking without providing data directly to the organization, as CWUR publishes the only academic ranking of global universities that evaluates the quality of education, alumni employment, faculty quality, and research performance without relying on surveys and university data submissions.
