Joana Mourão is a Postdoctoral Researcher with a strong track record in the fields of Bioinformatics, Drug Development, Health Sciences, and Infectious Diseases. She is currently working at the Technical University of Denmark, National Food Institute. In addition, she is an Editor of Frontiers in Microbiology, one of the top journals in the field. Over the past decade, Joana has made significant contributions to the study of Antimicrobial Resistance, publishing 32 articles (including two reviews) in international peer-reviewed indexed journals of high impact, 4 international book chapters, and 1 book. Her research has been widely cited, with an H-index of 13 on Scopus. She has also co-edited a special issue on Antimicrobial Resistance and organised national scientific events (EJIBCE). Joana has built a national and international network of collaborators. She is frequently invited to act as a referee in high-impact journals covering diverse knowledge areas related to Infectious Diseases, Bioinformatics, and Microbiology (https://publons.com/researcher/1226787/joana-mourao/). In addition to her research achievements, Joana has mentored several national students at different levels, including PhD, MSc, and undergraduate students. She has successfully participated in 14 funded proposals for attracting national (FCT, UP) and international (ESCMID) funding, demonstrating her ability to secure grants and funding for her research. Joana has presented her work at over 100 prestigious national and international congresses, including delivering 4 oral presentations. She has been granted 1 FCT fellowship (BD), 1 CEEC-FCT researcher contract, 13 awards/distinctions, and 8 congress grants. Joana holds an MSc specialisation in Bioinformatics and Biostatistics from the Polytechnic Institute of Porto and is integrated into relevant Microbiology societies/groups (ECCMID, EFWISG, ESGMD). She was invited in 2020 as an Assistant Professor at the University of Algarve and an Invited Assistant at the University of Coimbra. She was one of the founding members of the implementation of the service-learning MicroMundo@UPorto project (involving university and school students) in Portugal through the University of Porto, highlighting her commitment to community outreach and engagement.
