João Janeiro is a researcher with an interdisciplinary background that bridges oceanography, data science, and aquaculture. With over a decade of experience, he has been actively involved in developing and applying emerging technologies for environmental monitoring and optimization, including artificial intelligence, time-series analysis, and remote sensing. Currently, he is a researcher at S2AQUAcolab, where he applies predictive models and real-time monitoring systems to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of aquaculture. Previously, he worked at CIMA Ualg, on the development of operational ocean forecasting systems and digital tools for environmental risk analysis, contributing to projects such as AEROS Constellation and AtlantOS, which focused on integrating satellite data and ocean modeling for marine resource management. His career spans academic and technological institutions, where he has led innovative projects and collaborated with industry, research centers, and public organizations. He holds a PhD in Oceanography from the University of Algarve, specializing in numerical modeling and environmental impacts on marine ecosystems. Currently, his research interests focus on exploring historical environmental patterns and their relationship with aquaculture, using long-term meteo-oceanographic data to anticipate impacts and support adaptive management strategies.

Estes seminários estão associados à formação de professores e são dirigidos a um público-alvo diversificado, como coordenadores regionais do Coastwatch, técnicos de Municípios, ONGs, Instituições de Ensino, estudantes do ensino superior, entre outros. O investigador fez a apresentação intitulada “Uma perspectiva empreendedora das tecnologias para a exploração do Oceano”. Esta apresentação focou o tema do empreendedorismo cientifico.. Seminário.
